Health & Safety

All organisations require their employees to be trained in Health Safety and Environmental policy and practice. Health and Safety training will usually cover areas such as:

  • Organisation policy
  • Manual handling including safe lifting
  • Office and computer safety including Fire
  • Vehicle safety and security
  • Risk Assessments
  • Environmental Responsibilities

In a large number of organisations there is a requirement for specific training covering essential activities. This can include:

  • Operating in public areas
  • Specific task safety
  • COSHH
  • Permit to Work

Health and Safety training must provide a back up to the organisation's policies. It must be clear and unambiguous. Risk Assessments for the main activities carried out by the organisation should be covered along with actions to be taken required to minimise the risks identified.

An assessment should be included that to ensure that learner's have taken in the content thoroughly and can demonstrate a clear understanding.

Recording of Health and Safety training is a vital requirement for compliance. A system should be in place to allow the users to repeat the training every two years.
