Education

In an ever-changing world, the use of the latest technology in today's classrooms provides the perfect vehicle for fun, engaging and stimulating learning resources and activities, irrespective of the target age or ability level.

A wealth of possibilities exist in how digital content can enhance and provide a natural extension to the traditional textbook, with the added benefit of resources standing alone outside the classroom as well. Today's digital generation are hungry for and have come to expect technology driven content - from electronic archives, teacher resources and utilities to interactive whole class activities, lesson starters animations and revision tools. Delivering these resources can be achieved in a growing number of ways - a whole program or suite of materials on CD-ROM, bite-sized nuggets of learning over the Internet, through a VLE or direct to the pupil's mobile phone.

With the appearance of the Interactive Whiteboard in schools in the late 1990s, the scope of delivering digital content directly into the classroom was greatly widened. Government incentives aided the purchase of electronic resources optimised for whiteboard use and we have seen significant learning gains and improved student performance from these methods of teaching across all subjects and age ranges.

As technology continues to emerge, the advent of mobile learning (mlearning) has introduced another route to delivering interactive content and support straight to the user's fingertips.
